New chair to the Ramboll Foundation

Robert Arpe (66 years) takes over as chairman of the Ramboll Foundation after Flemming Bligaard Pedersen, chairman since 2014. Former MD of Ramboll Denmark and Ramboll UK Robert Arpe has worked for the Ramboll Group for almost 40 years. Since 2018, Robert Arpe has also been a board member of the Ramboll Foundation.

Robert Arpe looks forward to the duties of chairman of the Ramboll Foundation:

“The Ramboll Foundation ensures long-term and continuous development of Ramboll. The foundation does not participate directly in the strategic or operational management of Ramboll but maintains close contact with the Board of Directors and focuses specifically on maintaining the company’s high ethical and professional standards. The Foundation awards grants for both research and non-profit purposes. I am now very much looking forward to continuing this work as chairman of the Foundation” says Robert Arpe and continues: “In 2020, Ramboll will celebrate its 75th anniversary. The strong spirit of the two founders Børge Johannes Ramboll and Johan Georg Hannemann is still very much alive.

Robert Arpe trained as a civil engineer and started in Ramboll in 1981. He worked with bridges and tunnels as well as telecoms both in Denmark and internationally, before he joined the management team in Ramboll Denmark in 2006. From 2008-2016 he was CEO of Ramboll Denmark and in 2015-2016 also CEO of Ramboll UK.

Robert Arpe replaced Flemming Bligaard Pedersen as chairman on June 9 2020. Flemming Bligaard Pedersen has been chairman of the Ramboll Foundation since 2014 and was previous Ramboll’s CEO for 20 years from 1992 to 2012.
