Investment policy
The Ramboll Foundation’s primary asset is the majority ownership of the Ramboll Group. Furthermore, the Foundation holds a portfolio of securities. We aim for the best risk-adjusted long-term return on our portfolio to support our buy-back obligation towards the employee shareholders, our philanthropic ambitions, and act as a financial buffer.
Our investments are managed by external asset management firms under a mandate to maintain our portfolio as sustainable investments by only investing in companies conforming with Art 8 or Art 9 of the European Union Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation, meaning we only invest in funds that promote environmental or social characteristics, or funds that have sustainable investment as their objective.
In addition, all investments are screened for business involving alcohol, tobacco, gambling, and weapons with a threshold of 5% ownership applied in case of conglomerates with mixed businesses. Such assets are deselected for investment regardless of local legislation and the legality of the business or compliance with EU SFDR rules.
