The first steel structure - the Balloon Ferris Wheel in Tivoli in Copenhagen
1955: Broadcast towers – rebuilding Europe after the war
Rambøll & Hannemann started building high-voltage masts and broadcast towers to help rebuild the communication infrastructure across Europe.
1967: The Great Belt Link – the world’s longest suspension bridge
Rambøll & Hannemann were part of the joint venture that drew up the fist design in the 1970's.
1969: The Tunisian Adventure – and the first project abroad
Rambøll & Hannemann export their know-how on round bars to Tunisia.
1971: From Partnership to Foundation
Ensuring the survival of the company through long-term ownership
1973: International oil crisis sends employees back to school
To avoid layoffs, employees were sent back to school to study energy and environment technology.
1981: Avoiding the one-eyed technician syndrome

1991: Joint forces – the merger of Rambøll & Hannemann and B. Højlund Rasmussen
The new Rambøll, Hannemann & Højlund became a strong player on the national engineering consultancy market.
1995: Holistic Accounting
The holistic balance sheet took internal and external value creation into account.

2003: Local partners – global knowledge
Merging with Scandiaconsult meant that Ramboll instantly became the biggest Nordic Consultancy within engineering.
2009: The sound of Ramboll
A valued tradition; the whole company singing on the first Wednesday of the month accompanied by a Steinway piano.
2010: From Virum to HQ in Ørestad
One motive for moving to Ørestad was to be part of a new sustainable neighbourhood.
2014: Entering the American market
In December 2014, Ramboll acquired the American environmental and health consultancy ENVIRON.
2016: Our Legacy
In 2016, the Ramboll Foundation revisited the values of the company and published "Our Legacy".
2018: The formation of a new Americas business unit
In December 2018, Ramboll acquired the American engineering and design consultancy OBG.
2020: Joining forces with Henning Larsen Architects
In December 2019, Ramboll decided to join forces with Henning Larsen Architects.
2022: Establishing the Foundation's secretariat
Søren Staugaard Nielsen is appointed the first managing director of the Ramboll Foundation and will head the secretariat and the day-to-day management and operation.
